IRIS Software acquires AccountantsWorld | Accounting Today

IRIS Software, a U.K.-based provider of accounting software, has acquired AccountantsWorld, a longtime provider of accounting and payroll software and cloud-based services to accountants, based in Hauppauge, New York.

AccountantsWorld has been a pioneer in the cloud-based accounting technology space; it was co-founded in 1984 as Micro Vision Software by Dr. Chandra Bhansali and his wife Sharada, after Sharada discovered an error on their tax return and they decided to write their own tax software.

Farmington hires accounting firm for treasurer duties - Lewiston Sun Journal

FARMINGTON — Selectmen voted 4-1 Tuesday night, Dec. 28, to hire Berry-Talbot-Royer, a Certified Public Accountant firm in Falmouth to carry out many tasks previously completed by the town’s treasurer.

Treasurer LucyAnn Cook resigned earlier this month and only one application was received for the position, Town Manager Christian Waller said. The person was not qualified, he noted.
