Seniors Hall 'squeezed' by property taxes - Alaska Highway News

The Fort St. John Senior Citizens Association is petitioning the city to waive its property taxes, calling a series of planned increases over the next several years an “insurmountable burden.”

For the Senior Citizens Association, which has run the Seniors Hall on 100 Street for the last 40 years and has traditionally been exempt from property taxes, that means increases from $2,300 to $4,400 in 2022.

Buffalo Township officials to raise real estate taxes 9% for next year's budget, purchase new

Supervisors have proposed hiking the tax rate from 5.5 mills to 6 mills to balance their 2022 budget.

The 0.5-mill increase is projected to generate $30,000 for the township and cost the average property owner about $10 more in taxes next year, supervisor chairman Ron Zampogna III said.
