With taxes going up, cannabis operators threaten 'California Weed Party'

Two and a half centuries after the Boston Tea Party, legal cannabis operators say it might be time for a California Weed Party.

But rather than dump their agricultural product into the Pacific Ocean, shop owners and others are floating the idea of withholding their state tax payments. This year, that could add up to $1.3 billion.

State sales and corporate taxes up, personal income taxes flat - Radio Iowa

There’s been a nearly six percent increase in state tax receipts in the past five months compared to the same period a year ago.

“Gains in sales and use tax as well as corporate income tax remain significant,” says Jeff Robinson of the Legislative Services Agency, “while individual income tax growth for the year has been flat.”

Paterson NJ preliminary budget calls for school taxes increase

PATERSON — City property owners face a substantial increase in school taxes for the fourth consecutive year, under preliminary budget projections made public Wednesday night.
