Accounting club gets ‘fiscal’ with annual clean up day | Community | duncanbanner.com

In their sixth year, the Cameron University's accounting club set out to represent the OSCPA (Oklahoma State Certified Public Accountants) for their day of service at the park. The club took on their act of service on Saturday, Oct. 16 to cleanup up around Kiddieland at Fuqua Park in Duncan.

City Council passes property tax installment plan bill, tax sale accounting bill | WYPR

The Baltimore City Council passed two bills to create a property tax payment plan to help residents avoid falling in arrears and order the Scott administration to release a comprehensive public report on failings within the tax sale system.

Councilwoman Odette Ramos, who introduced both bills, argued they would reduce the number of Baltimoreans whose homes go to tax sale by preventing low-income residents from falling behind on their taxes and solving errors within the system.

Penn State Smeal Accounting External Advisory Board adds five new members | Penn State University

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Smeal College of Business has announced the addition of five new members to its Accounting External Advisory Board.

The Accounting External Advisory Board advises and otherwise works with the department in a number of different ways. The board is made up of accounting, business, government and education professionals who have an interest in promoting accounting education at Penn State.

Art of Accounting: Making your practice into a business | Accounting Today

A friend of mine has an enviable goal of growing his 15-person practice fourfold over the next 10 years. He has a plan and is using that as a roadmap to help get him there. It also seems he is on target.

I believe running a business is an important role and, for a practice to be elevated into a business, it needs someone at the helm to steer that ship.

CohnReznick merges in KPM | Accounting Today

CohnReznick LLP, a Top 20 Firm based in New York, is expanding in Massachusetts by adding Kevin P. Martin & Associates P.C., effective Monday.

The deal adds 100 people to CohnReznick and the firm said it would also make it one of the top 10 firms in Massachusetts. CohnReznick plans to maintain its Boston office while adding locations in Braintree, Danvers, and Fall River.
