How much money do you need to save for college?

ROCHESTER, N.Y. ( WROC ) — The challenge of saving for college is a daunting one for many parents and independent students. CPA Kenneth Hall of the New York State Society of CPAs discussed what they should be doing to prepare.

“A good goal is to save around 25 to 50% of what you believe will be the cost of college,” Hall said. He recommends the following money-saving steps for high schoolers and their families:

Putting Their Money Where Their Heart Is: Couple Donates $1M to...

An Eau Claire couple with a passion for the arts is helping kick off a new fundraising campaign at the Pablo Center at the Confluence with a $1 million gift as well as giving another $1 million to UW-Eau Claire to establish a scholarship fund.

The Pablo Center announced the donation from Brady and Jeanne Foust on Thursday afternoon, and said the arts center’s Graham Avenue Gallery would be permanently renamed in their honor.

Community members and first responders gather to raise money for state wide fund

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The sun came out for community members to enjoy golf four-person-scramble style. This tournament at Paradise Valley Golf Club was to raise funds for the Wyoming Heroes Fund.

Off-duty officers came for the fun and the on-duty ones were invited. "It's been extremely busy these past couple weeks and in our line of work that's not good," Elhart said.
