When you take money from an employer today, you are really signing on to help the company reach goals. These are their goals. That's your job. The benefit might seem to be the pay only, but your work should offer you more benefit than just money. Let's jump to the head of the class and double-down on your benefit.
These might seem like small attitude guidelines, but there is an obligation to yourself and an obligation to the people we work for to be engaged and to try to make our work meaningful. Meaningful work helps you feel your value and it's exciting to accomplish goals. That is one of the reasons it is so important for managers to clearly communicate goals and reward employees for reaching or exceeding goals in front of others.

During her postmatch news conference, Azarenka was asked about the lack of women's matches in the night session during the tournament. Just one -- a first-round match between Serena Williams and Irina-Camelia Begu -- of the seven prime-time matches has featured women.
U.S. Women’s Open: How much money each golfer won at The Olympic Club
And in 2021, it’s 19-year-old Yuka Saso taking home the winner’s check for $1 million from the U.S. Women’s Open.
Saso rallied from a rough start to end up in a playoff against Nasa Hataoka. They were tied after the two-hole aggregate portion of the playoff and on the third playoff hole, which was the famed 18th at The Olympic Club, Saso drained a birdie putt to clinch the championship.
Hataoka also saw a big payday for her second-place finish: $594,000. Lexi Thompson, who led by five early in the final, finished solo third to earn $381,974. Check out the complete money list from the 2021 U.S. Wome’s Open.

City Council too eager to give away money - Santa Barbara News-Press
Did You Know? wants to know: Since when did the taxpayers of the city of Santa Barbara authorize the City Council to donate any tax money to political organizations, especially when the city must take $15 million out of reserves to cover current operating costs due to COVID-19.
It seems that the City Council casually made an open-ended, informal, promise to fund the Healing Justice project. This came home to roost, when the Healing Justice representatives claimed $500,000 for two years' rent. One arrogantly declared, “We are here to cash the check" during the last City Council meeting.
Floyd Mayweather vs.
It was known heading into the Showtime pay-per-view fight between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul that no winner would be announced if the exhibition went the distance. That likely won't take anything away from Paul, who can claim something of a moral victory after managing to last all eight rounds with one of the greatest boxers of all time on Sunday night inside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Mayweather was clearly the better fighter, as was expected, but Paul utilized his huge height and weight advantage to lean on Mayweather and avoid taking more than one or two clean shots at a time from the former multi-division world champion.

These are 5 of the biggest decisions you'll ever make about money
To invest and build your assets, you need to accumulate a surplus of cash or savings. And for that, you need income that exceeds your expenses.
"If you want to be able to invest and accumulate wealth to help yourself and others in the future, you simply cannot spend more than you earn," wrote Jack Brennan, the former CEO of Vanguard, in his new book, "More Straight Talk on Investing."
For most people, generating income isn't the problem; rather, it's keeping expenses under control. Ask yourself whether a proposed purchase is a real necessity or a want that you could do without, suggests Alan Norris, a certified financial planner in Phoenix. If you can't decide on your own, run it by your spouse, partner or friend, he suggests.
