GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Hall County Veteran Services hopes you keep them in mind this year during Go Big Give as they work to raise money for the new state veteran cemetery.
Each year the group raises money for their annual hero flight, but this year it will all go towards the cemetery.
They need to raise $750,000 by the beginning of August. The group currently has about $140,000 and they are relying on donations to help them meet their goal.

(Reuters) -Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said Tuesday the company will build new features starting with Instagram for content creators to earn money from recommending products on the app and a marketplace to help connect brands with influencers.
The announcements are part of Facebook's effort to serve the "creator economy," in which social media influencers, journalists and others are earning money directly from their fans on platforms, including Clubhouse, Patreon, Substack and YouTube.

Los Angeles police officials want nearly $67 million more in funding and about 50 additional officers to comply with dozens of recommendations for improving the department's response to protests and other civil unrest.
Most of the increased funding — $53 million — would be earmarked for ongoing training for officers, including on the use of projectile weapons in crowd control settings, according to the report. Nearly $4 million would be used to create a new bureau focused on responding to large protests and other major events, while more than $2.2 million is needed for an outreach team tasked with building relationships with protest groups, police said.
