Hampton Roads cities move some business processes, payments online - Inside Business

Each city in Hampton Roads requires its businesses to obtain a business license and pay related costs each year. However, some cities make it easier than others. While some localities let business owners file and pay fees online, an especially welcomed option during the coronavirus pandemic, others still mandate that they pay in person at the city offices.

Newport News moved its system online at the end of 2020. For Commissioner of the Revenue Tiffany Boyle, making the process easier became a priority once she began listening to area business owners, said office spokesman Marcus Calabrese. Now, they can apply and renew business licenses and pay related fees at tax.nnva.gov .

Starting a new business in NEPA during a pandemic | wnep.com

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. — It has been a difficult year for so many, but it has also been a year of opportunities for some in northeastern and central Pennsylvania who have opened their own businesses in the past year: some from their homes, others in storefronts.

"I officially started running it in March of 2020. I was laid off from my job due to the sizing of the company I was working for. I did end up going back, but we were laid off for like three months. I'm a single mom, so I did need to have some kind of extra income," said Danielle Rodriguez of Dunmore, who owns DHC Boutique.

Best business credit cards for March 2021 - CNET

Business credit cards are designed to help small business owners manage their finances and earn rewards on spending. While some of these cards are specifically geared toward small business owners, the rewards and bonus offers are similar to those of consumer credit cards. The main differences are the reward spending categories, which are more business-oriented -- including office supply stores, telecommunications and even social media or SEO services.

Like consumer credit cards, business credit cards most commonly come in the form of either cash-back rewards or travel rewards. Cash-back cards offer rewards in the form of cash or statement credit. A statement credit is basically a reduction of the amount you owe the issuer. A travel rewards credit card offers rewards in the form of miles or points.
