Business: BP oil profit, cruise line offers sports betting

BP reported a profit of $1.36 billion in its latest quarter as oil prices continued to recover. That compares with a loss of $450 million in the prior quarter. BP says it expects oil demand to recover this year.

Carnival's Princess Cruises is offering passengers on its to-be-resumed cruises the option to bet on sports real-time, the latest company to dabble into online sports betting. The option will be available on Princess's MedallionClass ships, and passengers will be able to bet on sports except for Miami Heat games. Carnival is affiliated with the NBA team, which company Chairman Micky Arison owns.

Sterling Heights Small Business Relief Grant open for applications

Panasonic says Tesla business to be profitable, boosts profit outlook | Reuters

TOKYO (Reuters) - Panasonic Corp said on Tuesday it expects its battery business supplying Tesla Inc to be profitable this fiscal year, and raised its full-year operating profit forecast by more than half.

After several years of production troubles and delays at Tesla, Panasonic is beginning to see its decade-old partnership with the U.S. company become a profit driver.

Panasonic announced in October that it was developing a new battery cell designed by Tesla, one that would help Tesla halve battery costs and ramp up battery production 100-fold by 2030.
