This Week in Business: Coronavirus Hits the World Economy - The New York Times

It's been a rough year for the mall stalwart Victoria's Secret. Shares of its parent company, L Brands, fell almost 30 percent in 2019 as consumer tastes trended toward more inclusive, body-positive brands with slicker online marketing. It didn't help that its owner, Leslie H. Wexner, got mixed up in the Jeffrey Epstein sex-trafficking scandal , or that there's a new report about its culture of sexual harassment against models and employees. Mr.

How To Avoid The Business Version Of Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day makes me think not of the superstition that our late-winter weather patterns will be determined by whether a hibernating rodent emerges from its burrow on Feb. 2 and sees its shadow or not. Instead, I think about Phil Connors in the movie  Groundhog Day .

Entrepreneurs and business leaders may not relive the same day as literally as the fictional Phil Connors, but repeating a mistake can certainly feel like an unfortunate case of déjà vu. Most successful entrepreneurs are bound to have lost some time or money due to a business misstep at some point—making mistakes is part of the package. The key to success lies in learning from the mistakes you make.

Chamber of Commerce: Helena business staying strong | Local | helenair.com

Another bright spot for Helena is that for the first time in quite a few years, there were a considerable number of homes built under $250,000. This is especially helpful to first time homebuyers and retirees.

Helena's economic strength measured by the Policom Ranking also jumped form 49th (of 55 cities of our size across the U.S.) to 24th – putting us in the top 5%. The highest Helena has been on these rankings is #2 in 2012. Helena enjoys one of the most stable economies in Montana, much due to having state and federal government here but also influencing that are the large businesses and corporate offices located here.
