VA budget teams reach deal, including tax rebates
When General Assembly budget leaders announced an agreement on Friday that ends a six-month budget standoff , they outlined $1 billion in tax cuts, almost all of it through one-time payments of $200 to individual taxpayers and $400 to couples filing jointly.
In a one-page statement, they also touted investments in public education — both K-12 and higher education and money in financial reserves to cushion against economic uncertainty.

15 Accounting Firms Are Now Members of the 'Billion-Dollar Club' in the U.S.
Fifteen public accounting firms in the U.S. made $1 billion or more in revenue during their most recent fiscal year, according to the newly released top 500 firms ranking for 2023 from INSIDE Public Accounting.
There are three new additions to the "billion-dollar club" for 2023. At No. 13 is New York-based Marcum, which pulled in $1.21 billion, up from $799 million in IPA's 2022 ranking. Marcum jumped from 16th place to 13th place in the past year.
